Culture is a very dynamic word. It can be used to explain so many different things, and can be taken in so many different ways. I find the word to broad to explain is so little words or thoughts. I small idea for me is that culture is the way we precieve the rest of the world outside our own. Our own world even effects the way we see others. Culture can be the way we talk to each other. The way different groups of people explain the world around them to each other. There is a culturual barrier between those who speak different languages. Also culture can be used to explain the types of clothes we wear. From every country comes so many different ways on how to dress. People tend to dress the way that makes them feel comfortable and express themselves. Culture even goes into the rituals of each. This includes weddings, births, coming of age, and death. The word culture can be used to explain so many different aspects of human actions."Culture of any kind is made up of traditions, of patterns of action and interaction passed along from one person to the next"(Crimeth Inc. Workers Collective 84)

Action of Project

Depending on my project i want to bring attention to it. I want to shed light on a thing i see as a problem that needs to be addressed. These issues are over looked or even brushed over at times. I want to interview a few people that are directly involved or affected by these. I would like to put myself in a observing point of view. I would also like to put together research from studies that show the facts. Old people tend to interest me in ways i really cant explain. They fasinate me. I look at them and see myself. I try and figure out what they looked like at my age and what there life could have been like. Then i try and figure out what i might look like at their age and where I'll be. My fasination for it has lead me to this project idea.

Elderly in our culture

We tend to put our elders behind closed doors at nursing homes to get them out of our hair. Not every family does this but most due. It almost seems that once they become a pain families put them in a home. Ive even witnessed people treating them badly in public. Its almost as if nobody cares that they have been here for many more years then most of us. Other cultures around the world tend to put elders on a pedestal. I would like to research this idea to get a better idea of why we do what we do in this country.

American drug culture in suburbs

Drugs are a part of every society on every level. From the inner cities to the suburbs and even corporate america. I want to concentrate on the drug culture in the suburbs of amertican cities. Mainly suburban chicago. Drugs are used widely throughout high school and even middle school on many different levels. What are the effects of these drugs at an early age and which drugs affect the body and mind the most. The use of drugs tend to carry on with you long after even using them. What is the allure of these drugs and which kids are attracted to them?
